About us
Sanima Hydropower Ltd., was established in the year 1999 with the primary objective of developing hydro-energy projects in Nepal. The company developed and commissioned Sunkoshi Small Hydropower Plant (2.6 MW) in the year 2005. After successful commission of Sunkoshi Plant, the need of strong engineering team was realized which could provide engineering consulting services to the in-house projects of Sanima and at the same time provide such services to the external clients. As a result, Sanima Hydro and Engineering Pvt. Ltd (SHEPL) - a private sector company, was established in the year 2005 AD as a sister organization of Sanima Hydropower Ltd. (SHL).
Sanima Hydropower Ltd., is also a major shareholder of Sanima Mai Hydropower Ltd (SMHL). SMHL has developed: Mai Hydropower Plant (22 MW) and Mai Cascade Hydropower Plant (7 MW), which are operating since February 2015 and February 2016 respectively. Similarly, Sanima Hydropower Ltd., has made a significant investment in Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower Ltd., which is developing Middle Tamor Hydropower Project (73 MW), Swet Ganga Hydropower and Construction Ltd., which is developing Lower Likhu Hydropower Project (28.1 MW) and Mathillo Mailun Khola Jalvidhyut Ltd., which is developing Mathillo Mailung Khola Jalvidhyut Aayojana (14.3 MW). Sanima Hydropower Ltd., owns more than 90% shares of Sanima Jum Hydropower Ltd (SJHL). SJHL is planning to develop Jum Khola Hydropower Project (56 MW) in near future.
